Hogs for the Cause started in 2009 and has quickly developed into a true can’t miss event for festgoers across the country. Just a few years later, that good food, drinking and friendly competition was all it took for a couple of dudes to say “we should do this!” In 2013 team Hogjammin’ was formed. In no time, we had produced award-winning sauce, butt, ribs and porkpourri. Within 5 years we had made our way up to 3rd place overall. But as good as it feels to win, it feels even better to contribute to the real “cause” of Hogs for the Cause. They have distributed over $11 million dollars to families across the US battling pediatric brain cancer. We're born and bred right here in Louisiana, and we pride ourselves on doing it all, from the setup to the cooking to the drinking.
Hogs for the Cause has been voted Best Local Charity Event in New Orleans for many years now, and for good reason! Through the amazing efforts of the fans and the teams, they have become the premier nationwide source of funding for families with children fighting pediatric brain cancer.
Hogs for the Cause works with both local and national children’s hospitals, including Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, Ochsner Hospital for Children, Duke Children’s Hospital, Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Children’s Hospital, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite, and Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, to offer monetary relief to families with children who have brain cancer.
